New York has high levels of Radon

This is a map of New York counties showing Radon zones from the EPA.  Most of Western New York (WNY) is in Zone 1.  Zone 1 counties (red zones) have a predicted average indoor Radon screening level greater than 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter).  The Northern counties are Zone 2 counties and have a predicted average indoor radon screening level between 2 and 4 pCi/L (orange zones).  Please be aware that these are predicted estimates based on previous testing.

 

The only way to determine the Radon level in your home is to perform a Radon test.
